A Most Curious Wedding Fair 2020 Bridal Next Campaign

Hello there you curious bunch!

Tonight I’m taking some time out to write a post about The Most Curious Wedding Fair campaign shoot. I was lucky enough to be asked by its founder, Becky, to be a part of it and although I got to contribute a small part to the shoot, I’m totally honoured and grateful to have been ask.

For those that haven’t heard of A Most Curious Wedding Fair - It’s a show here in the UK where wedding suppliers can exhibit their creativity. It’s one of the wedding fairs that really encourages you to be you and express yourself.

2020 is a big year for A Most Curious Wedding Fair as they’ll be in three locations; London, Norwich and its newest location Manchester. And this campaign was the second shoot they released and what a shoot it was! Becky wanted to have an indoor as well as outdoor shoot. The indoor is the main campaign for the wedding fair, and the outdoor is for Bridal Next. Bridal Next is part of the show that brings light to creatives that have started their business in the last two years. It’s also part of a competition and helps to put you in the spot light. It’s also the first show I did when I started out! I was just a newbie and surrounded by two other wedding stationers that had way more work on their stand than I did. At that time I really felt way over my head. It was a nerve racking experience but a good one. I of course didn’t win, I was all nods and smiles with nerves but I did meet some really great industry peeps.

So back to the campaign! I was asked to illustrate calligraphy onto beautiful shells. I was sent the mood board and thought these shells needed something else to bring them to life. So I got out my watercolour and mixed pink and yellow tones and painted the inside of the shell. I also custom mixed a beautiful yellow / tan / gold for the names. I wasn’t sure if it would work, but my gosh it did! After sending a few shots of the work in progress to Becky, she loved them! And that was a ‘…and breathe’ moment! So grateful to have been asked, and thankful they made it into the campaign sitting alongside some amazing suppliers!

Now for next year! After having my two babies, I’ve taken the plunge and applied to exhibit next year in London. Fingers are crossed and nerves are up in the air!

If you’re a wedding supplier and think this is your vibe then head over to A Most Curious Wedding Fair and apply!
