It's been crazy in life and in the studio over the last few months! More on this later, but for now, I'm so super duper excited for this top secret wedding shoot I was a part of that is featured in You & Your Wedding magazine with some pretty cool creatives!
It's all about that wild and free feeling. The shoot was filled with macrame, of a backdrop, table scape and hanging pot plants. Gold accents were used to bring an elegant touch to the day, with wild flowers, help yourself finger foods and stationery giving guests a glimpse of the day itself.
The StationeryI wanted the packaging of the pieces to be simple with white textured card and brush calligraphy for each guest name. This was sealed with hot pink wax. When opened each guest was met with a small multi coloured macrame / dream catcher that I custom made and painted. A translucent map of the area, created in black ink, held the watercolour washed invitation and RSVP card. The main invitation was shaped into a geometric diamond that coincided with the tetrahedron within the macrame as well as the freestyle terrarium. I wanted the RSVP envelope to not be a standard one, and painted a watercolour wash on the envelope too. The menu, place names and 'Eat, Drink & Dance Under the Stars' sign were created with a similar geometric shape to link together with other elements within their surrounding. I absolutely loved creating these pieces! There's something about being in the middle of a forest, with the wind in your hair surrounded by nature, and combining it with modern elements, but still raw with calligraphy and hand painted pieces.
