DIY Session #1 - How To Glitter Your Feathers

Gather your feathers together and make them sparkle! Yes this is our first DIY Session. I have a few favourite colours, but Gold, oh yes gold has got to be at the centre of my eye right now and birds! I love birds! So why not combine the two. Here is a little idea that could be used with name tags, sent with your invites, something you could hang on the back of your chair or drape across the venue from wall to wall! So lets get started!

What you’ll need
Glitter
Feathers
Spray Glue

Gather you material together, a few sheets of newspaper for spray gluing and a sheet of A4 with a crease in the middle for glittering.I have used Spray Mount glue, that can be bought from your local stationery & art store.

Take your feather and hold at the end and spray at a 45 degree angle starting at the tip and moving inwards. a short quick burst of spray and that's all it needs, it doesn't need much spray glue at all. Do this on both sides of the feather.

Now it's time for glittering! Have your gold sparkle glitter at the ready and sprinkle onto both sides of you feather. I prefer to use the fine glitter to add a delicate look. Don't worry about getting messy or sprinkling too much on.

Once both side of your feather is glitter-fied, hold you feather at the end, between your fingertips and tap on your fingers with your other hand to get rid of any excess glitter.
